Cayman Islands, September 2, 2025 – Bullish, an institutionally focused global digital asset platform that provides market infrastructure and information services, is pleased to announce the appointment of David LaValle as President, CoinDesk Index & Data.
Effective immediately, David will lead the CoinDesk Indices and CoinDesk Data businesses, two core components of Bullish’s institutional information services offering. He brings over two decades of experience across both traditional financial services and digital assets, distinguished by key leadership roles and a proven track record in executive management.
David joins Bullish after four years at Grayscale Investments, where he served as Senior Managing Director, Global Head of ETFs, responsible for leading the strategic development and management of Grayscale’s ETF business. In that role, he spearheaded the company’s efforts to uplist Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (ticker: GBTC) to the NYSE and commence trading as an ETF, a significant milestone in the digital asset industry.
Prior to Grayscale Investments, David was the Chief Executive Officer of global index, data and analytics firm VettaFi (formerly Alerian), responsible for all facets of the business including leading the firm’s growth and business transformation strategy. His career also includes senior leadership roles at State Street Global Advisors as US Head of SPDR ETF Capital Markets, and at Nasdaq, where he built and led the Exchange Traded Product Marketplace.
"Dave is a longtime friend and business associate. I’ve watched him lead, build, and innovate at great institutions throughout his career," said Tom Farley, Bullish CEO. "His expertise in both listed products and index businesses is second to none. It’s exciting for our customers, colleagues at Bullish, and me personally to welcome him as President of CoinDesk Index & Data. This is going to be fun."
“I am excited to join Bullish and lead the CoinDesk Indices and Data businesses at such a dynamic time for the digital asset industry,” said David LaValle. “CoinDesk has long been a trusted name in digital asset information services, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation to deliver institutional grade data and index solutions to asset managers and institutions globally.”
